Higher Education Coordinating Board
Senate Bill 1007, 80th Texas Legislature authorized the Governor to appoint a non-voting student representative to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
The student representative is a non-voting participant on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and must have a strong drive and self-motivation to contribute to the progress of higher education in Texas. The student representative serves a one-year term beginning June 1, 2020 and ending May 31, 2021. The student representative must commit to fulfill all board related responsibilities during their term of service, to include attendance at no less than 3 of the 4 quarterly board meetings and 3 of the 4 board committee meetings as scheduled.
To qualify, a student must be enrolled and in good academic standing as an undergraduate or graduate student, must have earned a minimum of a 2.5 grade point average, and must maintain this minimum performance level throughout his/her term.
If interested in applying, you must complete the THECB application and the Governor’s application and submit by Monday, December 2, 2019 to the Vice President for Student Affairs Office in the J.C. Kellam Building, Room 980.
